Doyle Maurice Golden, lovingly called Mo, was born to Wynema Dell and George Henry Golden in Oklahoma City on September 13, 1944. He lived in Oklahoma City all his life, except for his military service as Senior Field Radio Repairman in Germany and the time he spent traveling Europe.
After his honorable discharge from the military, he worked at various jobs until he was hired into the Southwestern Bell Radio Shop and began work installing car phones. He rose with Southwestern Bell as the years passed, retiring as the Director of Network Operations, after he worked as the lead of the technicians who set up the first Southwestern Bell cellular system in Oklahoma City.
Mo is survived by his wife of 55 years, Connie, his daughters, Dona Dickens and husband Russell, Deborah Sewell and husband Gerald, and son Brannon Golden. He immensely enjoyed his grandchildren: Nathan, Joshua, Christin, Hannah and husband Tyler, Christopher and wife Rachael, Betsy, Kenneth, Amanda and fiancé Dylan, Preston and wife Denise, Evie, and his first great-granddaughter, Holly Mae Drake. Bonus family came along in the form of daughter-in-law Kendra Golden, Lex Whitaker, and Lex’s daughter Maci, Gennifer Hudgins and her son Zach. Mo’s extended family includes his brother Danny, Danny’s wife Linda, and their son Danny Junior.
Mo led his family with strength, patience, compassion, and generosity. He had a servant’s heart. His greatest purpose in life was to fix and to build. At these, he went above and beyond. He fixed houses, hinges, lawn mowers, and problems. He built homes; he built a family; he built a legacy; he built a life. Mo lived a life of radical generosity. His love, his money, his effort, and his time were freely and unconditionally given to those in need, without exception.
He passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026, holding hands with his bride, Connie, after many sentimental hours surrounded by friends and family, and a long, beautiful life spent loving and serving Jesus.
