Dwight Sellers

1937-2021

Virgil Dwight Sellers, 83, of Edmond, went to see Jesus on Saturday, April 3, 2021, with his loving family by his side.  Born October 9, 1937, in Chattanooga, OK, he was the son of the late J.C. and Marguerite (Huffer) Sellers.  He retired from General Motors after 24 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents and infant son, Curtis Lee Sellers.  He leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Mickey (Shepherd) Sellers; children, Tammy (Tim) Townsend, Bill (Deb) Sellers; grandchildren, Brett (Jeanna) Townsend, Brittany Townsend, Stephen (Alicia) Sellers, Nicholas Sellers; great-grandchildren, Madison Townsend, Harper Townsend, Lincoln Sellers, Remi Sellers; step grandchildren, Ryan Gray, Chad Gray; step great-grandchild, Jaxon Hamilton; brothers, Duane (Judy) Sellers, Lonnie (Arlene) Sellers; sister, Juana Stoll; and many other family and friends.

He enjoyed working in the yard and was proud of his collector El-Camino.  Nothing made him happier than the joyful chaos of family get-togethers.  If something were broken, he could fix it and he had God given patience in teaching others that skill.  He took great pride in the success of others.

Family and friends will be received Wednesday, April 7, 2021 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Mathews Funeral Home, 601 S. Kelly Ave., Edmond.  The funeral service will be held Thursday, April 8, at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Waterloo Cemetery (Waterloo Rd. and Kelly Ave.).

We will be live streaming this service in an effort to accommodate those people that wish to attend but feel they should not due to health regulations.  To watch the service CLICK HERE to go to our YouTube page. Click on 'Videos', then 'Live Streams'.
