Edith Mae Hall

December 28, 1934 — November 18, 2025

Edmond

Edith Mae Hall, lovingly known as “Gigi,” age 90, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 18, 2025.

Edith was born on December 28, 1934, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, to Mary Davis and Cecil Truitt. She was the second of seven children. She married the love of her life, Hurshel Hall, on December 6, 1952, in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Together they raised three sons: Gary, Gale, and Rick.

In their early years, Edith worked alongside Hurshel at Skein’s Cafeteria in Stillwater. In 1968, they moved to Oklahoma City, where they continued working together at Deaconess Hospital. In 1980, Edith began working in the business office at Baptist Hospital, where she remained until her retirement in the 1990s.

After retiring, Hurshel and Edith became the beloved breakfast cooks at their Arcadian Inn Bed and Breakfast in Edmond, Oklahoma. Edith was especially known for her famous vanilla-butter sauce, made fresh each morning—turning ordinary pancakes and waffles into a memorable morning treat.

Above all, Edith was known for being a devoted and fiercely protective mother. She gave sacrificially of her time, energy, and resources to support her children and family, always placing them first. She was also a master of laundry and ironing, faithfully pressing Hurshel’s khakis nearly to the end of her life.

In her later years, Edith found joy in creating intricate and vibrant embroidery pieces, a hobby that showcased her creativity and attention to detail.

Edith was preceded in death by her son, Gale; her parents; several siblings; and her beloved sister and best friend, Geraldine.

She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Hurshel; her sons Rick Hall and wife Tammi, and Gary Hall and wife Martha; and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren:

— Grandson Mark Hall and wife Valerie; great-granddaughter Allie Fandrich and husband Chace; great-great-grandson Grayson; and great-grandson Christian Hall and wife Destiny; and Great-grandson Ethan.

— Grandson Stephen Hall and wife Jenn; great-granddaughter Rachel; and great-grandson Asher Hall.

The greatest love mom's life was her love for Jesus Christ, her Lord and Saviour. She took great comfort in her favorite verse,

2 Chronicles 16:9
"For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him."

Edith’s legacy of love, service, and steadfast devotion to God and her family will forever be cherished by all who knew her.
