Edith Malissa Valenzuela was born May 23 rd , 1978, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was the fourth child and only daughter of Lee and Patsy Carder. She lived the majority of her school years in Yukon, Oklahoma and later lived in Edmond, Oklahoma where she graduated from Edmond North High School.

Malissa married John Randell in August 1998 and gave birth to John Carson Randell in 2003 and Ethan Shane Randell in 2007. Her sons were always the joy of her life. She was a wonderful mother and lived to love and serve her family.

Malissa was remarried in 2011 to Pete Valenzuela. They resided in Edmond, Oklahoma. Together they made a beautiful, loving home for Carson and Ethan.

Malissa was known for her spunky personality, fun-loving spirit, servant heart, and love for God and family. She was greatly committed to caring for her mother in her recent years. She always had a smile on her face and would light up a room when she walked in.

Malissa went to her heavenly home on August 8, 2024, after a short battle with cancer. While the family is saddened by this great loss, she is rejoicing in the arms of Jesus.

She is survived by her husband Pete Valenzuela of Edmond, Oklahoma, her two sons John Carson Randell and Ethan Shane Randell of Edmond, Oklahoma, her parents Lee and Patsy Carder of Edmond, Oklahoma, her three brothers Eddie Carder and his wife Crystal of Edmond, Oklahoma, Brent Carder and his wife Suzi of Thornton, Colorado, Luke Carder and his wife Jaima of Edmond, Oklahoma. She is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces, and her beloved Boston Terrier Rusty.

The family greatly appreciates the continued loving support and prayers.

A celebration of life will be held at Revive Church located at 400 W. Danforth, Edmond, Oklahoma on August 12, 2024, at 2:00 pm. Following the celebration of life, she will be laid to rest at Gracelawn Cemetery, 1407 N. Boulevard in Edmond, Oklahoma.
