Margaret Eleanor WeMott, 95, of Raytown, MO, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was born October 24, 1920 to T.W. Dugan Reed and Esther E Reed. Eleanor, as she was called by her family and friends, grew up on her family farm in Breckenridge, MO enjoying the company of her brothers and riding horses.

She attended Park College in Parkville, MO where she played on the basketball team. In 1949 she married Harold H. WeMott and spent the next 20 years as a homemaker and volunteer. Later in life she excelled as a saleswoman at Swanson's Department Store on the Country Club Plaza. Eleanor will be lovingly remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother, accomplished seamstress, expert storyteller, lover of nature, master of wit and feisty humor.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her daughter, Margaret Basso, her parents and her beloved brothers, Charles Reed and Phil Reed. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Clint Stone, of Edmond, OK, son-in-law Mark Basso of Kansas City, MO, grandchildren, Maggie Martin, husband Kyle, John Stone, wife Christina, Andy Basso and great grandchildren, Ellie & Ryan Martin.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 Friday, February 12 th at the First Christian Church in Edmond, OK, located at 2 nd and Boulevard. She will be laid to rest with her parents in Breckenridge, MO. A viewing will be held beginning at 10:00 on Saturday, February 13 th at Pitts Funeral Home in Breckenridge, MO. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Breckenridge, MO.
