Ella M. Marchese
1947-2023
Ella Marie (Ellie) Marchese, 75, of Edmond, Oklahoma went to meet her Lord and Savior on November 9, 2023. Ellie was born December 11, 1947, to Herbert and Florence McKenna in Bartlesville and grew up in Nowata, Oklahoma. She moved to Edmond during high school where she graduated in 1966. While attending nursing school, Ellie met and married Jack Marchese in 1968. Ellie and Jack raised 3 children together while she worked as a Registered Nurse for 35 years, mostly in surgery.
Ellie's reputation grew as a very compassionate nurse, and she was loved dearly by the doctors and her nursing peers. She was very passionate about her faith in Jesus Christ and Ellie was always involved in Bible studies and prayer groups. Ellie was a prayer warrior where she prayed fervently for her family and friends. She was engaged with Healing Room ministries for many years at Spring Creek Assembly of God. Ellie loved spending time with her family and friends and was especially enamored with her great grandkids during the last few years. She will be fondly remembered for raising her children in the Biblical teachings of the Lord and being a constant rock for them.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Johnnie Wilson, who bravely served our country and lost his life in Vietnam, by her parents Herbert and Florence McKenna, her brother Mike McKenna, and husband Jack Marchese.
Ellie is survived by her daughter Shannon and husband Travis Branson, her son Joe Marchese, and daughter Katie Nelson, as well as grandchildren Devin, Kevin, Megan, Joel, Jaden, Johnna, D.J., Troy, Connor, and Jayce. Also, her great-grandchildren Ellie, Maliyah, Mila, Beckham, Winn, Howard, Presley, and Miles. She is also survived by her brother Pat and wife Debbie McKenna of Springerville, Arizona, sister Bridget and husband Robert Reeder of OKC and a host of nieces, nephews, and sister and brothers-in law, and friends whom she loved dearly.
Ellie was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend, and mentor. She had special gifts, and her life has had an impact on many. Although we will miss her every day, we know she is in heaven rejoicing with the Lord and His Angels.
