Ellen Verdean (Deanie) Dobkins passed away June 15, 2026, at the age of 92 in Edmond, OK. Verdean was born on March 14, 1934, in Sobol, OK to Joe and Lillie Evans.
She lived in many places in her early youth from Northwest Arkansas to Oakland, California and graduated from Springdale High School in Arkansas in 1951. She went on to graduate from David Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN in 1954 with a degree in Home Economics.
She married Eugene Dobkins in 1956 while he was serving in the Army at Fort Crowder, MO.
She had a career as a Home Economics Agent and later as a teacher for many years. She owned a window drapery company in Lubbock, TX before eventually retiring to Shell Knob, MO. And Edmond, OK.
She was a member of the Waterloo Road Church of Christ in Edmond.
Verdean was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers, Dayton, George, and Al and two sisters, Helen, and Ella Virginia her twin sister who lived 11 days.
Survivors include one son, Kent (Diana), two grandsons, Sean (Nadia) and Dustin (Jacqueline) and four great grandchildren Claire, James, Ivanka and Jaxon.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 10:00 am at the Waterloo Road Church of Christ.
