Emma “Jean” Clark

Emma Irene Clark, known by all as Jean, was born in 1930 to Emma and Lester Shearer in Chickasha, OK, and passed away on May 23, 2024.

Jean spent her childhood in Chickasha, where she graduated high school and attended the Oklahoma College for Women. She graduated from college with a degree in professional art.

After graduation from college, Jean moved to Oklahoma City, where she worked for Braniff International Airlines. While in Oklahoma City, she met her future husband Jack Clark, owner of Jack Clark Dodge and later, Jack Clark Chrysler-Plymouth.

During their 50-year marriage, they often traveled and enjoyed spending time in different countries around the world. Jean was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing mahjongg with her friends and entertaining many of her and Jack's employees and friends at their Oklahoma City home, and at their home on Monkey Island at Grand Lake O' the Cherokees. Jean's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life, and they adored their Granny Clark. She spent many years caring, entertaining and loving her family and friends.

Jean is survived by son Steve and wife Keli of Edmond, daughter Shelley of Kansas City, MO, daughter-in-law, Sharon of Morrison, CO, Jack Clark Jr. (Chip) of Oklahoma City, Tony, and Claudia Clark of Atlanta, 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jack, son Greg, grandson Slade Clark, her mother and father, and sister Evelyn Babb and brother Bill Shearer.

There will be a private family memorial at a later date. The family requests donations be made in remembrance of Jean Clark to the following charity: Human Animal Link of Oklahoma Foundation-H.A.L.O. (yourhalofoundation.org) or the charity of your choice.
