Jean was born Apr. 11, 1931, in Olney Illinois, a daughter of Neil and Johanna Kapper. She married John D. Stacy June 21, 1969 in Olney. She is survived by her husband John; a daughter, Pamela Tilley, two sons, Daniel Stacy, and Mark Stacy; four grandchildren, Emma Tilley, Grant Tilley, Claire Tilley, and Zane Tilley; four brothers, Lester Kapper, Bill Kapper, Jim Kapper, and Jerry Kapper, and four sisters, Eileen Beuthien, Mary Dowty, Janice Morgan, and Marjorie Blunt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Edwin Kapper, and one sister, Judy Crosby. .

Jean graduated from Olney High School. She worked as a secretary at Union Oil and served as President in Desk and Derrick for years before starting a family and raising her three children. After her children were grown, Jean returned to work at the University of Central Oklahoma before retiring. When not working, Jean enjoyed singing with her church choir, raising her many pets and flowers, and creating strong friendships with those she met. Jean was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edmond. Jean was deeply caring and kind. She enjoyed music, especially crooners, church hymns, and show tunes; and was known to sing herself – whether in her church choir or at home – with talent and enthusiasm. She took comfort and strength from her church where she often served in the choir. She loved to cook, and it would be hard to find anyone who knew her very long who did not enjoy her delicious deserts and award winning pies. As "Sis", Mom, and Grandma, she took delight in her family and remains a warm and comforting presence in their lives. Donations may be made in honor of Jean to the American Cancer Society.
