Fred Clifton Holloway, 94, of Edmond, OK, passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021. Born on November 8, 1926 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to parents Waymon C. and May S. Dare-Holloway, he grew up in Ponca City, OK.  Enlisting in the Navy at age 17, he served in World War II as Torpedoman's Mate 2nd class at San Diego Naval and Pearl Harbor Submarine bases. Completing his GED while in the Navy, he later earned a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Arts and Master's in Child Psychology. Fred married Phyllis Rollier at a young age and had 4 children. Fred was a teacher and coach in Oklahoma City for 40 years at Southeast, Jefferson, Northwest Classen and Putnam City North. In addition, he was a skilled carpenter and remodeled homes. Fred worked hard to provide for his family, often working multiple jobs.

In retirement, he married Marguerite Shiner. Fred enjoyed traveling in his RV, volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, and participating in the Model A Club. He also treasured time with family.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, first wife Phyllis Minnette (Rollier) Holloway, a brother, and five sisters. He is survived by his children Steven K. Holloway, William A. Holloway, Ann K. (Holloway) Stanart, and Judith D. Holloway, as well as 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and wife Marguerite Shiner. Fred was a member of First United Methodist, Edmond.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 2, 2021, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Matthews Funeral Home, 601 S Kelly Ave, Edmond, OK  73003. A celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at 10:00 a.m., First United Methodist Church of Edmond, 305 E. Hurd, Edmond, OK  73034, followed by a Veterans Salute graveside service at Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Habitat-for-Humanity or First United Methodist Church of Edmond.
