Fred A. Perryman
1952 – 2025
Fred Arlen Perryman, 73, of Edmond Oklahoma passed away peacefully on May 4, 2025 with his wife Lillian by his side.
Fred was born on May 1, 1952, in Altus, Oklahoma to Fred and Bonnie Perryman. He graduated from Okemah High School in 1970 where he excelled in academics and basketball. From there, Fred attended Oklahoma State University where he was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. Fred earned a bachelors degree in Landscape Architecture and a Masters Degree in Microbiology.
As he worked towards his Ph.D in Microbiology at OU Health Sciences Center he realized working with patients was his top priority over research and he went to work. He was respected in his field as he worked steadily to save lives by matching patients' disease to medications and training other doctors to do so. While working at Baptist, he met his wife Lillian.
Fred was known for his great athletic ability, sharp whit and steady presence. Whether fixing something or offering wise counsel, he was always someone others could count on. He was a very dedicated father who while his son lived with him during college even purchased a second set of textbooks so that he could be involved in his schooling and help him study even relearning subjects so that they could tackle them together.
He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Lillian Perryman; his children: Reed Perryman and wife Ashley of Chickasha, Mandi Rahmes and husband Will of Edmond and James Clanahan of Moore; and his grandchildren: Isaac Rahmes and Claire, Carsen and Crew Perryman. He is also survived by his siblings: Phil Perryman and wife Lana, his twin sister Freda Beale and husband Chuck, and Dale Perryman and wife Sezen; and he is survived by his loving Aunt Hughla Foreman.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents Fred & Bonnie Perryman.

Services will be held Friday, May 23, 2025, beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond, Oklahoma.
