Freddie Jean (Calame) Gibson passed away early in the morning on September 7, 2025. Freddie will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandma Teddy.
Freddie was born to Robert (Ben) and Pearl Calame in Techucana, Texas on January 31, 1931. She was the baby of ten. Freddie worked her way through East Texas State Teachers College and graduated with her Teaching degree in 1952.She moved to Pleasant Grove, Texas to start her teaching career. It was here where she was set up on a blind date with Lloyd Gibson. After Lloyd returned from TDY, he quickly proposed and they were married on June 26, 1954. They went on to be married for 50 years.
Freddie loved to volunteer her time in the church and with mobile meals. You could often find her tutoring in schools, meeting her friends for Bible study or to play games. She and Lloyd loved to garden, travel, and spend time with their family.
Freddie is preceded in death by her husband Lloyd E Gibson and her son Randall A Gibson.
Freddie is survived by Randy’s wife Nancy, Grandson Robert and wife Renee and great grandchildren Zola and Brayden. Granddaughter Kellie and husband Adam, great granddaughters Adlie and Kya.
Daughter Barbara Wilson and husband David. Granddaughter Amy McMcWhorter and husband Ryan and great-grandchildren Madilyn and Cooper. Grandson Charles and wife Ashley and great-grandchildren Parker, Reid and Scarlett.
She is also survived by her youngest son, John M Gibson whom has remained with her and cared for her since the death of Lloyd.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City, OK.
