Fredrick Ernest Ebert, 83, of Edmond, Oklahoma, passed away on March 2, 2025. He was born on November 11, 1941, in Garber, Oklahoma, to Sarah and Carl Ebert. Fred graduated from Garber High School in 1960 and went on to marry his beloved Carol Mylon on July 27, 1963. Together, they had two children, Jennifer Helm and Scott Ebert. Their 51-year marriage was a true testament to their love, which continued even after Carol's passing.

He is survived by his sister Marcy Ebert of Edmond, Oklahoma, his sister Barbara Ebert of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and his brother Jerry Ebert and his wife Barbara Ebert of Hennessey, Oklahoma. Fred was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for baseball, softball, football, hunting, and golf. After high school, he was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers but chose to attend Oklahoma State University for a year before transferring to Alva to further his education and continue playing baseball. Though Fred spent time at Oklahoma State, he was a lifelong supporter of University of Oklahoma sports. Fred's love of baseball extended to coaching, where he mentored many players in Edmond who still remember his guidance. He also shared his love of golf with his family and extended family, and his home in Edmond was a special place for his loved ones. Whether it was tending to the garden, playing badminton on the homemade court, or hitting golf balls on the hole he lovingly named "Horney Toad Road," those memories are treasured by all who spent time there.
Fred worked for Braniff Airlines for many years, flying across the country and enjoying his passions for softball and golf. After his time at Braniff, Fred worked for Edmond Public Schools until his retirement. In his later years, he found joy in sitting on the back porch or relaxing on a beach balcony, enjoying the company of his family and grandchildren along with his favorite refreshing beverage.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the March of Dimes Foundation.
