Gary "Michael" Barrett

Although Mike was born in Lindsay, Oklahoma, he was raised in the small town of Wilson, Oklahoma. He graduated from Wilson High School as Valedictorian. He proceeded to Oklahoma State University and graduated with a bachelor's degree in "Broadcasting". During this time, his parents, Jack & Dorothy Barrett and brother Jack Jr. moved to Oklahoma City.

As fate would have it, he met his future wife, Debra Terry. They were marred for 47 years. Upon their marriage, Mike began a great adventure. He enlisted in the US Army and rose to the rank of Chief Warrant Commissioned Officer 3 or CW3. His assignments included Missouri (basic training), Massachusetts (one time for advanced training and another as an instructor), Korea (2 years), Germany (twice), Arizona, Washington (state), and Turkey. His main mission as an officer in Military Intelligence was to oversee the repair and operations of various electronic systems. As he and Debra traveled to the different assignments, they were blessed with four children, Michaela, Erick, Coleen, and Fox.

After 20 years of service, Mike retired from the Army and settled in Copperas Cove, Texas. Here their family continued to grow with the addition of grandchildren, Natas, Donovan, Cassie, Allie, and Andrew. There was also the addition of Harry, the Texas Pomeranian. Harry was Mike's constant companion and best friend. When Debra retired from teaching, they moved back to Oklahoma City. This is where Mike found his final peace.
