Gary Lynn Miller

1945-2013

Gary Lynn Miller died unexpectedly Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at his favorite place on Grand Lake. Gary was born December 7, 1945; he is preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Dorothy Miller. He is survived by his best friend and wife of 30 years, Louise Miller of Edmond; his children, Shonda Miller of Plano, TX; Lucas Miller and wife Melissa of Arlington, TX; Robin LePage and husband Philip of Claremore; Jennifer Chase of Edmond; Justin Chase and wife Renee of Miami; and six grandchildren, Roman and Ava Thornton of Plano, TX; Jordan LePage of Norman; Brenden LePage of Claremore; Garrett & Jaron Chase of Miami. He is also survived by his sisters, Linda Shive and husband Gere of Del City; Paula Conrady and husband Terry of Enid, and their respective families. Gary was born in Oklahoma City, growing up and graduating from Del City High School in 1964. He served proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1965 – 1967. He then began his long career in the Transportation/Trucking field. He drove for American Farmlines; spent 17 years with TG&Y in Edmond as a driver and then as Transportation Director. He transitioned to Transportation Director and Assistant Warehouse Director at C.R. Anthony's in Oklahoma City for ten years. He proudly finished his career spending 14 happy years as Fleet Manager at Gemini Coatings in El Reno, retiring in July of 2012. With his wonderful sense of humor, caring nature and kind ways, he was a positive influence on all those around him. Gary loved his wife and family above all else and would do anything for them. He was a constant source of strength, wisdom and advice for those of us that needed it. He cherished the relationships made in his career and was always just a phone call away for his truck drivers – no matter what time night or day. He will be monumentally missed, more than words can express. Viewing with the family will be held Tuesday, May 21 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Matthews Funeral Home, 601 S. Kelly, in Edmond. Funeral services will also be held there at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, May 22. Condolence messages can be sent to the family at www.www.randytheme.dev.
