George Aaron Birkicht
June 29, 1926 – December 24, 2020
George Aaron Birkicht was born on June 29, 1926, in Seminole County, Oklahoma and departed this life on December 24 in Edmond, Oklahoma at the age of 94.
George, the son of Ira Oliver and Beulah Bell (Parsons) Birkicht, was a resident of Spencer, OK for over 45 years. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a World War II Veteran. George retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, and was the owner/operator of Oakridge Mobile Home Park until January, 2019. He had an incredible work ethic; was a jack of all trades; and always had the desire to be there for others. He loved his family, boating, fishing, gardening, and water skiing. He was a man of faith and attended the Church of God Seventh Day in Del City.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Deloris Childers Birkicht; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Diana Birkicht; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Cliff Peden; Grandchildren: Amber and Blake Pankey; Carenza and Steve Shields; Wade Peden; and Chris Newman; and great grandchildren Beckham and Adele Shields; Cooper and Camden Pankey; and Amelia Newman. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Dorothy Birkicht of Pineville, Louisiana; and sister, Norma Goss Hurst of Maud, Oklahoma.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, and siblings: Eugene Birkicht, Charles Birkicht, Rosa Goforth, and Billy Birkicht, as well as his grandson, Chad Birkicht.
Viewing will be held on Tuesday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Matthews Funeral Home. Services will be Wednesday December 30, 2020 at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. followed by the burial at Arlington Memory Gardens in Midwest City.
