With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Gordon Wayne Harris, 75, who departed this world on April 7, 2024, in his home in Edmond, Oklahoma. Born on July 18, 1948, in Midland, Texas to Richard Wayne Harris and Patsy Buckland Harris. Gordon lived a life marked by love, devotion, and unwavering strength.
Gordon was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sheila Ann Harris, whose memory he cherished dearly, his parents, and brothers Jeff Harris and Ricky Harris. He is survived by his siblings, Nita Leonardi (Jerry), Sherri Weatheread, and Chuck Harris (Vicki) of Mineola, Texas.
Gordon leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience through his children: Richard Harris, David Harris (Tamara), Robin Day, and Melissa Harris. His stepchildren, Monica Barrington (Leon) and Bryan Bishop (Diane) also hold his memory close to their hearts. Gordon's spirit lives on in the lives of his 15 grandchildren, whom he adored and cherished.
Throughout his life, Gordon was a pillar of strength and kindness, offering guidance and support to those around him. His unwavering dedication to his family was matched only by his boundless generosity and compassion.
As we mourn his passing, let us remember Gordon for the love he shared, the wisdom he imparted, and the countless lives he touched. Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
