Gwen Quarnstrom
April 6, 1920 – December 16, 2014
Gwendolyn Reidenbaugh Quarnstrom entered this world at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6, 1920 and died on December 16, 2014. She was the youngest of five children born to Joseph Allen Ferguson and Dora Elizabeth White of Turner, Arkansas.
Her mother was her guiding influence and she always respected her memory. On August 14, 1937 seventeen year old Gwen married the love of her life. Frederick Orville Reidenbaugh, known to all as "Dutch", was her beloved companion for 36 years until his death in 1973. She was a loving mother to Shirley, Linda and Bob.
While living in Galveston, Texas she attended an evangelistic crusade which changed her focus of living and was baptized into the Seventh-day Adventist Church. She always looked forward to attending services and loved serving her Lord.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Shirley Slaughter and beloved granddaughter Jena Berrong.
Those who love and miss her include daughter Linda Burks and husband Odell, son Bob Reidenbaugh and wife Laree; grandchildren Mike Burks, James Burks, Robin Keller, Phyllis Gomes, Ty Reidenbaugh, and Faydra Evans; 14 great grandchildren, and 3 great -great grandchildren.
Services are 10:00 a.m. Friday December 19, 2014 at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel with interment at Arcadia IOOF Cemetery.
