Harold Eugene Deichman

1929-2018

Beloved husband, father, and brother, Harold Eugene Deichman, of Oklahoma City, OK passed on to his Lord and Savior on March 1, 2018. He was born near Blackwell, OK on Oct. 10, 1929 to Charles and Mary (Moyers) Deichman. He met the love of his life, Christine E. Northcutt, in the 9 th grade at Blackwell Jr. High and they were married while he was in the USAF on Sept 18, 1948.

Harold was employed by Capitol Steel Corp. in OKC for 35 years until the company bankruptcy in 1985. He was the Chief Draftsman for those last several years. Not ready to retire, he went to work for Stupp Bros. Bridge and Iron Company in St. Louis as Chief Draftsman in January 1986 and retired in 1996 as project Manager, returning to Edmond, OK in 1997 to be near family.

Harold was very active in his church most of his adult life and enjoyed their membership at Quail Springs Baptist Church most recently. He enjoyed his temporary life here on earth knowing the Jesus Christ was his Lord and Savior. Coming from a humble beginning, he always felt God looked after him and blessed him beyond full measure. His family and friends will miss him greatly until we too are reunited in Heaven.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Deichman and Mary Bumgardner; stepfather George Bumgardner, whom he grew to love immensely; stepmother, Cleone Deichman and sister, Madeline Sands of York, PA. Survivors include his wife, Christine, of the home; daughter Sherry Deichman, of Edmond, OK; daughter and son-in-law, Dee and Odell Friar of OKC; brothers, C. Leonard Deichman (and wife Ann) of York, PA, Allen Bumgardner (and wife, Sharon) of Piedmont, OK and Joel Deichman (and wife, Nancy) of Shawnee, OK; two grandson, Ryan and Aaron Lombard, two great-granddaughters, Devon and Kylie Lombard.

Celebration services will be held at Quail Springs Baptist Church, in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 7, 2018 with interment at Resurrection Cemetery in OKC following the service. Visitation at Matthews Funeral Home, 601 S. Kelly, Edmond, OK will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 6.

Harold loved his family very much and was a great father to his daughters. He was a big St. Louis Cardinal fan and loved to watch football and Thunder basketball games.

The Deichman family wants to thank Humanity Hospice and Visiting Angels for their loving care shown to Harold and family as well as their helpful guidance.
