Harold Eugene Hackler

Harold Eugene Hackler, 85, of Edmond, OK passed away on November 6, 2021. Gene was born on July 19, 1936 in Wewoka, OK to Raymond Hackler and Lena Evelyn McGlaughlin Hackler. He spent his first to freshman years in Wewoka and then graduated high school from Davis High in Davis, OK in 1954. He attended college at East Central in Ada, OK and Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science graduating in 1960.
Harold worked for funeral homes in Ada, OK; Tulsa, OK; and Bartlesville, OK. He acquired a funeral home in Cushing, OK in 1972 and retired from funeral service in 1987.
Harold married Agnes Janet Crossett on April 13, 1957 at East Central University Chapel. She passed on August 7, 2011. There were four children born to the union, Tamara Lynne Hackler Buskirk, Richard Mark Hackler, Leslie Dawn Hackler Pierce and Matthew Wayne Hackler. Grandchildren born to this union and added by marriage, Brandon Buskirk, Kendall Buskirk Windham, Taylor Pierce, Garrett Pierce, Bailey Hackler, Brittney Hackler, Mason Hackler, Maxwell Hackler, Chanda Arvizo, Jason Pierce, Eugene Pierce and Kevin Pierce and 10 great-grandchildren.
Harold married Eva Hackler on December 3, 1990. With this union came two stepchildren, Brian Franklin and Renee Franklin Clark and two step grandchildren Kennedy Franklin Dow and Jack Franklin. Harold is also survived by his siblings, Judy Hackler Pinley, Richard Paul Hackler and Joseph Patrick Hackler.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Donald Raymond Hackler, and sister-in-law, Beverly Hackler.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 9 th from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with family present to greet friends at Matthews Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel with private interment to follow at Gracelawn Cemetery Edmond, OK.
