Harold Lee Young was born in Rocky Ford, CO to Henry & Louise Young. The family moved to Wichita, KS in 1931. Harold attended Wichita schools where he lettered in gymnastics and was a State Champion Wrestler. He graduated in 1947 and went to work for Boeing Aircraft until 1951, when he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served with the 82 nd Airborne and 187 th Airborne Infantry Regiment in Korea and Japan. He was discharged in 1954. Prior to enlisting, Harold met his beautiful and everlasting wife, Aileen. "She was the cutest and best girl that I had ever known. I liked her better than P-51's." They were married on May 14. 1953.

After leaving the service in 1954, Harold attended the University of Tulsa. He made the Tennis Team and earned a scholarship to pay for his tuition when his G.I. Bill ran up. He graduated in 1958 with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. Harold worked in the oil industry for 40 years, including having his own consulting firm, H.L. Young Inc. He retired in 1998. Harold L. Young was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather an avid golfer, a Harley rider, a pilot, a great cook, a cancer survivor and a great friend to many.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry & Louise Young, his infant son, Baby Harold and his sister Betty Bogue. He is survived by his wife Aileen Young, his brother Robert E. Young, his daughter, Cynthia and her husband Terry Trammel. His son Daniel & his wife Becky Young. His grandchildren Carly, Trevor & Corbin Shanklin, Jacob Moss & Tyler Young. His great-grandchildren Makenna Moss & Bryleigh Shanklin.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Edmond at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, January 24, 2013.
