Henry Milton Standlee Jr., 95, of Edmond, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, January 17, 2017.
Henry was born on November 14, 1921 in Tulsa, OK to Henry M and Ida (Whismon) Standlee. He attended Will Rogers High School where he was on the swim team and met the love of his life. Henry and Roba M (Smythia) were married on December 24, 1942.
After serving his country during WW II from 1942 to 1946, he returned and worked in printing and reproduction services for over 60 years. Henry had an unprecedented passion for his family. This was evident in the way he endured that every family gathering was abundant in memories to be cherished.
Henry and Roba were blessed with the most extraordinary gift from God with the birth of their son, Pete. Pete blessed them with their grandson Michael who meant more than anything in the world to them.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Roba, brother Oscar, and two sisters, Ethel and Wanita.
Henry was survived by his son Pete and wife Valora, grandson Michael and wife Lynda, 2 great-grandsons Joshua and Jacob and 1 great-granddaughter Faith Roba and a sister Minnie Wilson of Tulsa.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2016 at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
