Ida Newcomb
1940-2015
Ida Newcomb, loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Mercy Hospital. Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 10 at 2pm at Matthews Funeral Home at 601 S. Kelly, Edmond, OK 73003.
She is the daughter of the late William H. Frame and Juanita G. Frame. Ida was born July 22, 1940 in Bristow, Oklahoma and later moved to Cushing, Oklahoma. She graduated with honors from Cushing High School in 1958. After being high school sweethearts six years, she married Ted P. Newcomb March 29, 1959 in Cushing, Oklahoma. After lovingly raising her three children, she worked in retail as a manager and buyer throughout her career, though she never considered it a job. She loved what she did and her customers became her friends. She also enrolled in writing courses at the University of Central Oklahoma and was very passionate about her writing.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ted Newcomb, her daughter Michelle Autry and her husband, Curt, her son Randy Newcomb and his wife, Tammy, and her son Kevin Newcomb and his wife, Adrienne; 7 grandchildren, Justin Autry, Alysa Autry, Trevor Autry, Chase Newcomb, Chad Newcomb, Callie Newcomb and Lochlan Newcomb, and her sister, Mary Hubach, her niece Jenny Fowler, and her nephew Tim Wooten.
