Ingeberg Smith passed on February 23, 2025, at Bradford Village in Edmond, Oklahoma where she had lived for the last 6 years.

Ingeberg was born February 17th, 1937, in Trier, Germany to Josef and Christine Leyendecker.

She grew up in the middle of WWII seeing many atrocities. She met Coy Smith, when he was stationed in Trier in 1956 with the Air Force and the two were married November 3rd of 1956.

They traveled to the United States on July 17, 1957, when Coy was discharged from the Air Force. Upon their return the pair lived in St. Louis, Oklahoma before moving several times due to Coy's employment.

In 1974, Inge opened a bridal shop business in Guymon, Oklahoma. Then later expanded the business to North Penn Plaza in Oklahoma City.

Upon Ingeberg and Coy's retirement in the mid 80's they filled their time caring for the many beloved dogs the family had.

She is preceded in death by her husband Coy Smith and son, Gary Smith; Her parents, Josef Leyendecker and Christine Leyendecker; brothers, Josef and Karlheinz Leyendecker; and sister, Maria C. Cox.

Mrs. Smith is survived by son, Bill Smith and wife, Nadiia; grandchildren, Derek Smith of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Deidra Lagrange of Guymon, Oklahoma; Great Grandchildren, Sloane and Sage Smith of Fayetteville, Arkansas; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of Bradford Village for how well they knew and cared for Mrs. Ingeberg Smith in her time there.

Graveside services will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Cummings Cemetery in Maud, Oklahoma.
