Iris R. Harrell
1926-2016
September 13, 2016, brought to close a life well lived for Iris Roberta Morton Harrell. She was born in View, Texas, to John and Bessie Morton. She married the love of her life, Raymond Wayne Harrell, on November 27, 1944. Her life centered around her strong faith and family. She loved her church family, loved to attend ladies' Bible class, sewed bibs for the new baby ministry, graded Bible school lessons for Search, and was "mom" to many adopted college students. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, brother James Morton (TX), brother Charles Morton (OKC), and sister Katherine Poston (CA).
She is survived by her daughter Sarah Stroud and husband Darryl of Corpus Christi, TX; daughter Julie Montgomery of Edmond; grandchildren Jeremy Cornelius and wife Stacey of Kennesaw, GA; Ryan Montgomery and wife Mandy of Edmond, and Megan Montgomery of Edmond; great-grandchildren Alec Cornelius, Hadley Montgomery, and Ethan and Addison James.
Services to celebrate her life will be held on September 19, at 10:00 a.m. at Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond.
