Jack C. Anderson
1936-2016
Jack C. Anderson passed away January 11, 2016. He was born January 10, 1936, in Casper, Wyoming, to Johnnie D. Anderson and Helen M. Witherspoon Anderson. The family moved from Wyoming to Thrall, KS where he attended grade school, graduating from Hamilton Kansas High School. He attended Emporia State Teachers College, Emporia, KS; Arkansas City Junior College, Arkansas City KS; and Oklahoma State University. He spent 35 years in the oil industry, starting as a summer roustabout for Sinclair Oil & Gas and advanced to District Superintendent for ARCO Oil and Gas.
After moving his family across OK, KS, and TX, he ended his career with ARCO in Ardmore, OK, and then spent 7 years as District Manager of the Arbuckle Master Conservancy District at Davis, OK. Upon his second retirement, he and his wife moved to OKC in 2001.He married Juliene Cargill on September 1, 1959 in Drumright, OK. Together they raised three children.
He was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church, serving on various church committees, including Volunteers in Mission. He was a team member on many mission trips to South America and Mexico. His favorite pastimes were golfing, woodworking and attending OSU sporting events. He was a member of Kickingbird Senior Men's Golf Association and could be found in the starter shack on Wednesdays.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Helen Anderson. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Juliene and their children, Kathy Anderson & husband Andy of Stillwater, Julie Smith & husband Ron of OKC, Steve Anderson & wife Carol of Ardmore; and grandchildren Tyler Anderson & wife Laura of Fairbanks, AK, Riley Anderson of Stillwater, OK and Tanner Smith of OKC; and his sister, Kay Sallee of Loveland, CO.
Viewing will be held Thursday, January 14, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 15, 2016 at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City with burial to follow at 3:00 p.m. at Euchee Valley Cemetery in Cushing, OK.
