Jacqueline “Jacki” Carllson

November 30, 1946 — November 30, 2023

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrong. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres (1 Corinthians 13:4-8.) Jacki was love personified.

Jacqueline Rogers Carllson, 76, was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven on June 24, 2024. She peacefully passed at her home in Edmond, Oklahoma. Jacki was born in Norman, Oklahoma on August 21, 1947.

She was raised in Oklahoma City, graduating from Northwest Classen high school in 1965. She then attended William Woods College until she married the love of her life, Richard Carllson, on July 15, 1967. Jacki and Richard took off a semester to be newlyweds, until Richard was drafted to serve in the Army. While Richard was in Vietnam, she had their first child, and created a home for him to come back to. In September 1975, the two of them started Mutual Assurance Administrators (MAA.) What started in an attic, grew to be a major third-party administrator in the United States known for integrity and service. Jacki, COO of the company, was a force to be reckoned with, but she was also a friend to everyone around her.

She poured so much love into everything. She was a major fan of Oklahoma University sports, her dog Sadie, professional poker, traveling, but her favorite thing in the world was her grandkids. The greatest title that she ever held was Bubba. She was Bubba to Abby Carllson (28), Ben Carllson (26), Chandler Schmidt (20) and Cameron Schmidt (18.) Jacki loved watching them grow into their own people and create their own space in the world. To fill the part of her heart missing after Richard's passing, she found love and counsel in Pat and John Swaim, Paula Stanford, Karen and Tom Hollis, and Robert and Marguerite Wise.

Those she left behind are Chris Carllson, Cara Carllson and daughter-in-love, Christine Carllson, Judy Rogers, Debbie Rogers, and Ryan Rogers. Waiting for her at heaven's pearly gates are Richard Carllson, Cory Graham, Rusty Rogers, Ferrill Rogers, and Donnie King.

Jacki Carllson's funeral service will be Friday, July 19 at 2pm at Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond. We ask that in order to properly celebrate her life, you wear your best colors.
