Some people measure a life by the years they live. James Paul Bailey's life will be measured by the people he loved, the lives he changed, and the legacy he leaves behind.

James was, above all else, a family man. He loved deeply, worked tirelessly, laughed often, and gave generously. He was the steady hand everyone leaned on, the first to offer a prayer, the last to ask for anything in return, and the kind of man whose presence made everyone around him feel at home.

He shared an extraordinary love story with his wife of 25 years, Amy, building a life centered on faith, family, and unwavering commitment. Together they raised three sons—Britt, Beckham, and Brady—who were the pride of his life. He celebrated every milestone, every success, and every moment they shared together. Just weeks before his passing, James experienced one of life's sweetest blessings as he welcomed his daughter-in-law, Amber Jean, into the family, a day that filled his heart with pride and joy.

James believed in building things that would last. Through hard work, determination, and an uncompromising commitment to excellence, he founded Electrical Professionals of Edmond. Perhaps nothing brought him more fulfillment than watching his son Beckham join him at the company in the last several months. Teaching his son the electrical trade became one of the greatest joys of his life of recent. Every lesson shared, every job completed together, and every conversation was about more than work—it was about passing down a legacy.

Away from work, there was no place James loved more than his lake home. It was where life slowed down, laughter came easily, and some of his happiest memories were made. Whether sitting on the deck, spending time on the water, grilling with family, or enjoying evenings surrounded by lifelong friends, the lake was his sanctuary. His lake family became an extension of his own, and the friendships formed there will forever remain part of his story.

James had a gift for making people feel important. He remembered names, celebrated victories, offered encouragement during hardships, and quietly helped others without ever expecting recognition. He lived with humility, strength, humor, and an unwavering faith that guided every chapter of his life.

His absence leaves an immeasurable void, but his influence will continue for generations. It lives on in the family he cherished, the business he built, the friendships he nurtured, and the countless lives he touched through simple acts of kindness and love.

James is survived by his beloved wife, Amy Bailey; his sons, Britt, Beckham, and Brady Bailey; his daughter-in-law, Amber Jean Bailey; his mother and father, Debbie and Gary Bailey, his brother, Chad Bailey, wife Cyndi Bailey, his sister Tammy Ward, his mother-in-law, Lisa Goodpasture, and grandmother, GG, along with his extended family, treasured friends, and his beloved lake family. Each carries a piece of his heart and the privilege of having known a truly remarkable man.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate James's life during a visitation on Wednesday, July 8, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Matthews Funeral Home, 601 S. Kelly Avenue, Edmond, Oklahoma 73003.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 9, at 2:00 p.m. at Life.Church Edmond, 4600 E 2nd St, Edmond, OK 73034.

While our hearts are broken, we are forever grateful for the years we were given with James. His love was constant, his faith unwavering, his work meaningful, and his life beautifully lived. Though he is no longer by our side, he will forever remain in our hearts, in our stories, and in the legacy he leaves behind.
