James Dean "Jim" Harrison of Edmond, OK passed away Saturday, July 4th, 2026, in Oklahoma City, OK.
He was born June 18th, 1939, in Tishomingo, OK. He graduated from Tishomingo High School and served in the Oklahoma Army National Guard.
James retired as an electrician from Oklahoma Gas and Electric Company.
He loved being with his family and friends, especially his three great-grandsons, and looked forward to meeting his friends at Virginia's Place for breakfast every morning.
James enjoyed fishing and watching sports and old movies, many in black and white, on TV. He was an avid OU fan and watched numerous games, men's and women's.
He was preceded in death by his wife Janell Harrison, his brother Tom Harrison, his sister-in-law Peggy Harrison, his mother Roberta Harrison, and his father Harley Harrison.
Survivors include his grandson Todd Lawson, his wife Samantha, great-grandsons Layten, T.J and Kainen, his sister-in-law Carol Harrison and numerous cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, James would have wanted donations to be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026 at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel in Edmond, OK.
