James Ray Hogle, beloved husband, father, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother and friend, gained his wings and went to be with the Lord on February 17, 2017, surrounded by his family in Oklahoma City, OK. Jim was 84 years old.

Jim, known to his family and friends as "Buddy", was born in Muskogee, OK on February 2, 1933 to James Harold Hogle and Bessie Ann (Youngblood) Hogle. He grew up in Tulsa, OK and graduated from Central High School in 1951. On September 8, 1951 he married his high school sweetheart, Mary Elizabeth Collins, in Tulsa, OK. Through their union, they had two children: James Michael Hogle and Pamela Sue Hogle. They recently celebrated their 65 th Wedding Anniversary.

On February 5, 1952, Jim enlisted and served in the United States Air Force for 4 years. During his time in the Air Force he served as a Ground Control Operator. Upon the completion of his service on February 4, 1956, he had attained the rank of Staff Sergeant and received both the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. After his service in the Air Force, he was employed by TG&Y as a buyer until his retirement in 1986. His employment with TG&Y moved his family from Tulsa to Stillwater ultimately landing him in Edmond, OK. Here he and Mary became long time residents where they raised their children. They were long-time members of First Presbyterian Church of Edmond, OK. Jim was an avid Oklahoma State Cowboys fan and was a long time season ticket holder to their football games. During his retirement, he and Mary extensively traveled the United States and Canada.

Jim is greeted in heaven by his father, James Harold Hogle; his mother, Bessie Ann (Youngblood) Hogle; his brother, Harold Dean Hogle; his sister, Shirley Ackart; and son, James Michael Hogle.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Hogle, of the home; daughter, Pam and her husband, Kenny; grandchildren Amy Nordstrom; Beth Taylor; Ray Davis; Billy Davis; and Danielle Thompson; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at First Presbyterian Church of Edmond, 1001 S Rankin with internment at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to the Oklahoma Chapter of the Alzheimer's Foundation.
