James Thomas "Jimmy" Tharp

June 2, 1967 – October 15, 2014

James (Jimmy) Thomas Tharp passed away on October 15, 2014 after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Jimmy was born in Iowa, but moved to Edmond, OK as a child. He worked as an auto mechanic until his disease became severe. Jimmy's hobbies included muscle cars, hunting, fishing and shooting when he was a young man. When Jimmy became bedridden his faith in Jesus kept him strong. He grew in his Catholic faith and was a witness to loving surrender to God's plan for his salvation. Jimmy loved to pray. Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Richard Tharp. Surviving relatives are his mother, Margaret Tharp, siblings; Father Shane Tharp, Cathy Tharp, and Teresa Tharp, his niece Erin Merrill and her husband, Thad Merrill. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Birth Choice. May he rest in peace. Funeral services are 10 am Monday, Oct. 20, 2014 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in Edmond, OK. Interment will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery.
