James " Jim" Richard Turner
April 20, 1964 – October 6, 2021
James Richard Turner, affectionally known as Jim or Jimmy, passed away October 6 th , 2021 due to complications from Covid. Jim was born in Oklahoma City April 20, 1964 to parents James (Jim) and Annalee Turner. He graduated from Western Heights High School in 1982 with honors. Jim then headed to Oklahoma State University in Stillwater to pursue a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, graduating in December of 1986. Two weeks later, he married his sweetheart, Lisa Kysar, on December 27, 1986. The newlyweds moved around during the early years of their marriage, and soon welcomed their two children, Elizabeth and Joseph, to the family.
Jim loved his family more than anything, and raising his family was one of his most proud accomplishments. He was an avid supporter of local boy scout troop 479, leading the troop as assistant scout master all through Joseph's scouting years. Fixing things and making people laugh were two of his passions, and Jim used these skills to build a successful career with HPE, earning the title of Master Technologist throughout his years of service.
Jim is survived by his wife, Lisa, children Elizabeth (Beth) and Joseph, as well as his half-sisters, Sharon, Terri, and Sandy.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021, beginning at 12:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
A Celebration of Jim's Life will be held at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 10:30 AM.
Interment to follow at Jamison Cemetery, CO Rd 50, Harrah, OK 73045.
