Jamie C. Mease
February 27, 1958 – November 11, 2020
Jamie Mease was born on February 27, 1958 in Springfield, Missouri to Bobby and Maree Mease. He passed away peacefully at his home in Edmond, Oklahoma on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at the age of 62 after a courageous 3 year battle with cancer.
Jamie grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and in 1976 graduated from Oak Park High School. He was then employed at Sears Automotive Center.
On September 5, 1982 he was united in marriage with Anita Schmidt at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. This union was blessed with one son, Matt.
Jamie enjoyed playing softball and the family had many hours of fun at the ball fields of the Kansas City area as well as at tournaments in other states.
In June 1996, the family moved to Edmond and Jamie had employment with Blackmon-Mooring where he was a dedicated and hard worker.
Jamie was an exceptional bowler having bowled two 300 games and always carried a high average in his leagues. He also enjoyed an occasional round of golf, playing cards and especially spending time with family and in recent years developed a love of cooking for them. (But he did not like the cleanup).
Jamie was preceded in death by his grandparents; brothers-in-law, Tim Schmidt and Chet Shoaf. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Anita; son, Matt; his father and mother, Bobby and Maree Mease; his brother, Kevin (Carlene) Mease; his father and mother-in-law, Marvin and Helen Schmidt; his brother-in-law, Lowell (Jean) Schmidt; sisters-in-law Susan Shoaf, Janet (John) Hoener, Barbara Schmidt; nieces and nephews and many friends.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society.
A memorial service will be held at 10:0 a.m., Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel Edmond, OK.
