On April 9, 2026, after 95 years Jane Reeves Falk decided to leave her mortal body and go to that place that Jesus promised He was preparing for us. John 14:2-3. I can image the joy of meeting her Savior in person and reuniting with her husband Dick of 62 years.
Jane was the third child of Richard Wayne Reeves and Lola Demarius Spradley born in Holdenville, OK February 18, 1931. Piano lessons as a young girl fostered a lifelong love of music and as an adult, piano teaching became her vocation. God brought a handsome, recently discharged Marine into her life in her senior year of high school at Pauls Valley, OK and after graduation, they married June 24, 1949. Sons Richard Guy Jr. and Stephen Curtis, who were born August 26, 1950, and October 18, 1951, and the family settled down in the oil and gas town of Hobbs, NM. Life there revolved around sports, school, and attending First Baptist Church whenever the doors were open.
Jane's career as a certified piano teacher flourished and over a span of 42 years she taught hundreds of young people, some of whom were international exchange students at New Mexico Junior College.
Besides music Jane loved her cats, vacationing in their motor home, riding dirt bikes in the sand dunes and beating her fellow residents at Veraden Senior Living Center at Bingo.
Jane is survived by sons Richard Guy Falk, Jr. M.D. and wife Kelleyann of Edmond, OK, son Stephen Curtis Falk and wife Wenalyn of Albuquerque, NM. Grandchildren Brandi Campbell, Keni Falk, Jeremy Falk, Garrett Falk, Wylie Falk, and Kailey Falk Geymann. Great grandchildren Mark Jimenez, Sharridan Campbell, Grace Campbell Holmstedt, Amelia Falk, Rowan Falk, Josh Wheeler and Billy Wheeler.
Visitation is Wednesday, April 15th, from 1-6pm at Chapel of Hope, Hobbs, NM. Graveside services are planned for 11:00am April 16,2026 at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Hobbs, NM. Lunch will follow at First Baptist Church fellowship hall 301 E. Snyder street.
Jane Reeves Falk was an amazing wife, mother, friend and teacher. Those of us who knew her were abundantly blessed!
