Jason Dax Koone

Jul 25, 1972 — Oct 27, 2026

Edmond, Oklahoma

Jason Dax Koone, 54, of Oklahoma, passed away surrounded by the love of his family on October 27, 2026. Born in Oklahoma City on July 25, 1972, to Dave Koone and Mary Coleman, Jason lived most of his life in Oklahoma, building a community of friends wherever he went.

Jason worked in retail sales at O'Reilly Auto Parts, a job he truly loved because of the people. To Jason, his coworkers and regulars weren't just colleagues, they were family. It was often said that if you weren't friends with Jason, you just hadn't met him yet. He never passed up a chance to lend a helping hand, and he would have moved the moon for his grandson as he called him “little buddy” George Bender.

Jason was a kind-hearted, warm soul with an unforgettable sense of humor. Known for his quick wit and endless supply of dad jokes, he had an effortless way of bringing laughter and smiles to everyone around him. Jason brought warmth, laughter, and light into every room. He was happiest when working with his hands—whether fishing, tinkering with cars, working on woodworking and carpentry projects, or simply relaxing with family and friends.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Coleman; the love of his life, Carey Rucker; his daughters, Taylor Koone, Reagen Larson, and son Jacob Mason; his grandson, George Bender; his brother, Benjamin Koone; his sister, Natalie Koone; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his stepfather Robert Coleman.

While he will be profoundly missed, Jason’s legacy of kindness, laughter, and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
