Jerre Lynn Byers
1950 – 2023
Mom, Nana, Aunt Jerre, just Jerre to some, and Jerre Lynn to her mother and husband, was born in Oklahoma City on September 9, 1950. She was the second child of Marvin Raymond Smith and Ella Rosemary Ramsey Smith who lost their first child, Penny, after she was only on this earth a short time. The family moved to Dallas, Texas in 1952 where her sister, Janelle, was born and from there to NW 44th in Oklahoma City where she went to kindergarten. They moved to Edmond and lived on an acreage with MeeMaw and PawPaw Ramsey on dirt road East 15th Street until their house next door was built in 1962. She grew up helping and playing in their garden and orchard with their cousins: Charles and Delores' kids Delinda, Robyn, Debbie, Deanna and Craig; Ellis and Margaret's kids Bob, Margene, Rosemary, and Randy; John and Kay's kids John and Rodney; Clyde and Francis' kids Carolyn, Larry, and Allen; and Nina and Byron's daughter Karen. Of the aunts and uncles, Delores is still with us and cousins Randy and Karen have passed away. She was born again through faith in Jesus Christ in 1965 at Falls Creek Baptist Assembly. She met Jerry Byers at Lone Star Baptist Church. They were married on June 28, 1968. First dates. Only dates. Married 55 years last spring on the day their second great grandchild, Remingtyn, was born. Their marriage brought 3 children, 9 grandchildren, and 2 great grand children. Jerre Lynn lives on through her family. Daughter Brooke Wroblewski and husband Layne, parents of Sophie, Zoey and Zachary; son Brett Byers and wife Ale, parents of Cooper and Elhem; grandson Bailey Byers and wife Jacie, granddaughter Carsyn Walters and husband Dakota with son Beckam and daughter Remi; son Ryan Byers with sons Tallon and Corbin; sister Janelle Campbell; and nephew lan Campbell with wife Marilyn and sons Eli, Daniel, and Bennet. Along with many other loved ones. Jerre Lynn slipped off into Eternity to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, after a 14 month struggle with a rare incurable disease on December 9, 2023.
