Jo Ann Lewis died peacefully November 14, 2025, at the age of 89 in Memory Care after a long battle with dementia in Edmond, OK. She was born Jo Ann Taylor on October 11, 1936, in Altheimer, Arkansas
She is preceded in death by - husband of 58 yrs - Jack Lewis, parents W. Allen and Vilas Taylor, brother -Jimmy Taylor, sister-in-law Barbara Taylor and daughters Jean Ann and Jane Connie.
Jo Ann is survived by brother W.A. Taylor of Pine Bluff Arkansas, sister in law Lynn Taylor, daughter Janice Elaine and Dr. Bill Parsons of Edmond, and daughter Judy and Dr. Michael Schiff of Ponca City, grandchildren Dr. Blake Parsons and wife Nani of Edmond, Stacy Ramirez and husband Jorge, Tyler Morris in Texas, and 6 great grandchildren.
Jo Ann loved her time playing and teaching her children and grandchildren when they were young. She enjoyed her pets and loved to feed squirrels and birds.
She enjoyed music and crafts and watched college basketball and hallmark movies until the end. She will be remembered for her smile, laugh and sweet disposition by all those who took care of her.
Our sincere thanks to the caregivers that looked after her in memory care and a special thanks to Valir hospice and wound care for their dedication to providing comfort and care for Jo Ann for almost four years. She was blessed to have a son-in-law (of 48 yrs), Bill Parsons, who has cared for her like a son, and they shared a very special relationship. He oversaw her medical care, fed her meals, and visited her often, sharing equally the responsibility of her care, both in Ardmore and Edmond, with her daughter Janice.
Jo Ann will be buried in Stilwell, OK next to her husband and two children, at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
