Joan L. Grant, 80, of Edmond, passed away on March 23, 2014. She was born on September 12, 1933 in Norman, OK to James and Geraldine (Barton) Chervenka. Joan married the love her life R. Robert Grant on July 29, 1955 in Fort Monmouth, NJ. She loved reading, gardening, knitting and sewing but her favorite was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Joan worked in women's retail, mostly as a buyer for Balliets' and retired as a women's assistant manager at Harold's. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Julie, She is survived by her husband, R. Robert "Bob" Grant; sons, Robert and Julie Grant, Kansas City, MO, Michael and Lisa Grant of Oklahoma City, OK; six grandchildren, and one great grandchild. A memorial service will 1 p.m. Friday 1st Christian Church of Edmond. Services are under the direction of Matthews Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Edmond, OK
