JoAnn Alspaugh Logan
1943-2021
With profound sadness we announce the passing of JoAnn Logan, our loving and devoted wife, mother, and friend to all whose lives she touched, on Sunday, June 13 th , 2021. JoAnn was born in Duncan, Oklahoma on December 26 th , 1943. The daughter of Claude E. Alspaugh and Estelle Hardin Alspaugh. She married her longtime love Jerry Logan on May 31 st , 1964.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at First United Methodist Church of Edmond on Friday, June 18 th , 2021 at 2:00pm. Summer casual dress, per JoAnn's request.
JoAnn lived a full life as a dedicated teacher, wonderful mother and homemaker. JoAnn received her degree in Education at Central State University. She taught in Luther, Oklahoma and Oakdale, Edmond. She ended her teaching career as a counselor at Orvis Risner. She retired to take care of her three boys. Once the boys were grown, she found her passion in helping her husband establish Honey Hill Farm. For the next 14-15 years, JoAnn and Jerry provided fresh venison and honey to the local farmers markets, restaurants and grocery stores creating a thriving business.
JoAnn was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Her passion for cooking and gardening was a special bond that she shared with her grandchildren. She loved to cook their favorites on birthdays and holidays. JoAnn had a fondness for Peter Rabbit books. She loved to read them to her grandchildren and entertain them with tales of England.
JoAnn was an accomplished gardener, she loved sewing with her sewing group and was honored to be a member of P.E.O. Chapter DD. She was a faithful servant to the First United Methodist Church in Edmond. She spent years as a Sunday School teacher, sat on several committees, and was an integral part of the church community.
JoAnn is survived by her husband Jerry Logan, sister and husband Cherie and Pete Dennis; her three sons and their wives Marc and Katrina Logan, Barry and Rebecca Logan, Dr. Chris and Tanya Logan; grandchildren, Bryan Logan, Ashley Logan Burks, Landen Logan, Carsten Logan and Brooklyn Logan.
