Joe Dale Weedn was born on July 22, 1965, in Edmond, Oklahoma, and passed away on February 23, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was a devoted family man whose life centered around the people he loved most.
He was known for being a great cook, always finding joy in preparing meals and bringing people together. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and camping, and found particular happiness in Alaska, a place he loved. He also loved riding motorcycles, a passion that brought him excitement and joy and was often the topic of conversation with family and friends. He had a remarkable ability to fix just about anything and was always willing to lend a helping hand to family, friends, or anyone in need. He valued friendship deeply and was fortunate to have many close friends with whom he spent time often, creating lasting memories and strong bonds.
Above all else, he was a loving and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He was a true caretaker- always present, dependable, putting the needs of others before his own.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Melinda Weedn; his father, James Weedn; daughter Hayley and her husband Chris; daughter Lacey; and son Joel and his wife Madison. He also leaves behind six beloved grandchildren- Lilly, Lucy, Rider, Gracie, Liam, and Parker-who brought him pride and happiness, as well as countless other friends and family members who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Myrna, and his brother, Jim.
He will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his loyal friendships, his generous spirit, his willingness to help others, and the deep love he had for his family and friends. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the family and friends who loved him dearly
Public visitation will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond, OK.
Services will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Matthews Funeral Home Chapel in Edmond, OK.
