Joel Morton Garrett

1926-2014

Joel Morton Garrett passed away on October 21, 2014. Joel was born in Cherokee, OK

on May 20, 1926 to Joel and Inez Garrett.

Joel retired from C.H. Guernsey & Co, and was a proud member of the Lions Club who enjoyed spending time collecting coins and stamps.  He was an avid reader, and appreciated his morning coffee at Around the Corner in Edmond.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and by his wife, Frances (Shannon) Garrett.

Joel is survived by his sons Kent Garrett and wife Susan, and Dave Garrett and wife Kristy; sister Donna Benson; and grandchildren Joel, Levi, Josh, Brady, Jaxon, and Cameron Garrett.

He will be loved and missed by all.

Visitation will be 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, Friday, Oct 24 at Matthews Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will be 10:00 am, Saturday, Oct 25 at Matthews Funeral Home, with burial to follow at 3:00 pm at Cherokee's City Cemetery.
