John Curtis Blankenship
1979-2021
John "Curtis" Blankenship passed away on July, 4th 2021.
Curtis was born on March 8, 1979 in Norman, Oklahoma.
Raised in Moore, Oklahoma, Curtis attended both Moore and West Moore High Schools. He went on to earn his B.A. in Journalism from The University of Central Oklahoma. After graduating from college, Curtis followed in his father's footsteps and opened an Energy Services company, Digital Networks, LLC.
Curtis loved his Sooners, soccer, and golf. As a kid, he was active in soccer and in his early days playing golf, his first par from the adult tee was on a par three at Broadmoore Golf course in 1985. He went on to become a scratch golfer and achieved 2 hole in one's! He loved following the Sooners football team and playing golf, particularly trying to perfect his swing to emulate Fred Couples, his favorite golfer. Curtis lived for playing golf and watching the Sooner's with his dad, brother, his children and friends.
Curtis is survived by his Parents, Johnny "Craig" Blankenship, Tammy Haslam Blankenship, his Brother, Brandon "Clint"Blankenship and his wife, Melanie Holleyman Blankenship, and his three children Hayden Blankenship, Haylee Blankenship and Caleb Blankenship.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Friday, July 9, 2021 at Matthews Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, July 9, 2021 at Gracelawn Cemetery Edmond, OK.
