John Mark Graeber, Sr.

John Mark Graeber Sr. of Edmond, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 8:37am.

He was born on November 8, 1965, in Melbourne, Florida, to Ernest W. and Cora L. Graeber. He attended Edmond Memorial High School.

John is survived by his loving wife, Teresa Graeber, whom he married on August 11, 1990. Together, they shared 35 wonderful years of marriage built on love, family, and faith. He was a proud father to John Mark Graeber Jr. and his wife, Erin(favorite daughter-in-law). John cherished being a grandfather to Easton, Avery, and Bentley, who brought him endless joy.

He is also survived by his siblings: David Graeber of Guthrie, OK; Sharon England of Edmond, OK; Vickie Freeman of Edmond, OK; and Corey Graeber of Edmond, OK. He is also remembered by his Aunt Betty Graeber of Edmond; cousins Clyde and Anita Jones of Edmond, OK, and Rusty and Carol Gilpin of Wellston, OK; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest W. and Cora L. Graeber; his brother, Robert Graeber; his uncle, Robert (Bob) Graeber; and his aunt and uncle, Johnny and Dorothy Gilpin.

John worked for the City of Edmond Water Department from 1983 to 1998 before starting his own business, John Graeber Underground.

Outside of work, John loved gardening, hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. His happiest moments were often spent with his grandchildren. Some of their favorite memories together included riding the trackhoe, working in the garden, and feeding cows.

John will be remembered for his deep love for his family, his hardworking spirit, and the simple joys he shared with those around him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Public visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond, OK. Services will be held at Matthews Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Gracelawn Cemetery.

All are welcome to gather at the home of John and Erin Graeber, 3770 Lone Tree Dr, Edmond, OK 73025, following the service for food, fellowship, and remembrance.
