John L. Harris

John L. Harris, 86, of Edmond, Oklahoma was born August 30, 1928 in Mustang, Okla. to Robert Dewey and Della Nave Harris. He grew up in Deer Creek and graduated from Deer Creek High School. John married Mary Ruth Cornforth in 1965. John retired from Macklanburg-Duncan shipping dept.. He enjoyed family get-togethers, traveling and the Edmond Lions Club and was always helping others. He was always smiling and never complaining. John passed away on August 20, 2015 in Edmond.

He is survived by his wife Mary of the Home, Daughters, Carolyn Couch and Joyce McKee and her husband Jim, Grandsons, Seth and his wife Mia, and Luke McKee. 5 Great Grandchildren, sister in law Evelyn Harris and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Tom and wife Mina and Robert.

Services are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday August 25 ^th at New Covenant United Methodist Church with interment to follow at Gracelawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday at Matthews Funeral Home.
