John William Landis
1978 – 2017
John William Landis, born March 8, 1978, unexpectedly passed from this life on November 2, 2017, after succumbing to a brief devastating illness at the young age of 39. John had a generous, kind, jovial, deep spirit and intense love for the Lord. He frequently expressed his emotions through eloquent, thought-provoking poems, stories and quotes from his reading. He had a way of deflecting social awkwardness by throwing in a humorous youthful joke, followed by a deep belly laugh. So funny, he was so funny. John drove bus 95 for Edmond Public Schools, skilled and cautious; he had finally found his perfect job. He absolutely adored the interactions with his kids and looked to going to work every day. He felt needed and was meticulously responsible for their little lives. He was a beloved son, sibling and a treasured and loyal friend to many. He is survived by his father and mother, Don and Kay Landis, his brother, Robert and his sister, Kadriye. He is also survived by 4 beautiful nieces, Melaney and Courtney Landis, Samantha Arnold, Kayla Coffman.
