Johnathan Barnhart Morey IV 'Mambo"
Johnathan Barnhart Morey IV "Mambo" went to his heavenly home on September 23, 2018 at the age of 80. He was born on May 22, 1938 in Ada, Oklahoma to Dr. Johnathan Barnhart Morey III and Sue Barrett Morey. He was married to his wife Mary Ann for over 58 years and cherished her each and every day. He attended the University of Oklahoma where he was a member of the SAE Fraternity and an avid Sooner Fan. Mambo never truly retired and worked as a Petroleum Landman his entire career and was a partner in the firm of Halpin Cobb & Morey (HCM). During his time as a landman he served two terms as the President of the Petroleum Landman 's Association. He was a devoted member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church of Edmond. Mambo's true passion in life, besides his family, was playing golf and he was a 2x club champion of Oak Tree Golf Club. He also loved taking his sons and grandsons fishing as they took many trips to Alaska and Canada. He loved traveling with Mary Ann and close friends to their favorite spots in New England where you could always find him enjoying a lobster or two. Mambo was a very dear friend to all that knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Mary Wilson. He is survived by his loving wife Mary Ann, his three children, daughter Mary Lou Morey of Fredericksburg, TX, son Johanthan Barnhart Morey V "Jay" and wife Melissa of Tulsa, OK, and son Michael Barrett Morey of Edmond, OK. He was Pop Pop to four grandchildren who he loved dearly, Katy Pudlo, Dow Finsterwald III "Trey", Johnathan Barnhart Morey VI "JB", and Carter Barrett Morey, and two great grandchildren Avery and Addie Pudlo. He is also survived by two sisters Sally Milke and Sue Anderson, along with numerous nieces and nephews, and his true best friend Driller. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Episcopal Church of Edmond's building fund, Free to Live Animal Sanctuary of Edmond, and/or the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network ( www.pancan.org ). Services will be held at All Souls Episcopal Church on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 2:00pm.
