1938-2016

Joyce Bernadette Allton, was born on 9/28/38 in Tulsa, OK to James William and Velma Moore, She passed away in Edmond, Oklahoma on 3/15/2016.

Joyce grew up in Blackwell, Oklahoma.  She attended Nursing school in Tulsa and was a Registered Nurse at Hillcrest Hospital for most of her career.  She married Jack Douglas Allton also of Tulsa on June 25, 1959. Joyce moved to Edmond in 2008 to be near her remaining family.  For Christmas that year, she adopted her new best friend, a miniature Yorkie named Pip.  They were constant companions and gave each other much joy.

She is survived by her son, Steve Allton of Edmond, grandson, Saxon Allton of Nashville and sister June Gonzales of Edmond.  She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 18 at 2:00 pm at Acts 2 Methodist Church, 4848 W. Covell Road, Edmond. Arrangements are being handled by Matthews Funeral Home, Edmond.
