Judith Louise Angier
1937-2021
JUDITH LOUISE (McLoughlin) ANGIER was born on October 4, 1937, to a hardworking and devoted family in Utica, in upstate New York. Her father was Edward Herman McLoughlin of an Irish immigrant family and her mother, Hedwig Helen Huta, also of an immigrant family from Poland.
"Judy," as she was affectionately called, was 4 th in a large family of 7 siblings, all of whom were very close together and lived within a few miles of each other in upstate New York. She was married to Francis Thomas Angier while working as a nurse's aide in 1956.
In early 1965, with 4 children, the youngest of whom was a newborn, the family moved to Oklahoma for a job at the Tinker Air Force Base for her husband. Judy would also later work at the Base as an accountant. The family made their home in Edmond, the same area where Mrs. Angier lived until she passed on.
The Angiers had 6 children and raised two of their grandsons as their own. At the time of her passing, Judy had 32 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Even though they had a large family of their own, it paled in comparison to the 1000s of other children and adults, they took in and nurtured through the years.
Judy was full of life and lived it to the fullest. Always giving of herself to those in need. She was a hardworking, compassionate, generous, and open-minded woman. Service to others and generosity were values that she instilled in all her children. You would often find her sitting around the kitchen table laughing at stories her grown children would tell from their childhood memories. She was a loving and a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, all the way until the end of her life.
What brought her joy in life was being around her family, especially during the holidays. The entire family would gather at Judy's home to celebrate the holidays. She served her guests with joyfulness and began preparations for each event weeks in advance with much excitement. Grandma's homemade cookie trays were a staple of Christmas and one that the grandkids couldn't get enough of.
In 1997, her loving husband, Francis passed away due to an illness, the same year Judy retired from Tinker. She continued the family traditions at her house and never complained about the hard work she did. She often took care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren during the day and after school. The grandchildren loved her dearly and looked forward to spending special evenings at grandma's house before a holiday.
Judy has left a legacy of service, unconditional love, selflessness, sacrifice and devotion with her family.
She passed on to heaven, on Monday, Nov. 1 at about 9:44 a.m. after a long and full weekend of family visits and goodbyes at her room at the Baptist Medical Center in Edmond.
Judy is preceded in death by her beloved husband and her loving daughter Patty Angier. She is survived by her 5 children, Fran, Keith, Laurie, Mike, Chris and their spouses, along with more than 30 children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Judy will be remembered for her giving and loving spirit and her sense of family. She is missed dearly by her family and friends, but they are comforted in knowing she is rejoined with her beloved husband of 40 years. She will also be remembered for her love of and service to humanity and her saintly character.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
