Judy Ann Blackwood

Judy Blackwood, 73, of Edmond, passed away at her home on February 6, 2016 following a brief illness. Judy was born to C.I. and Ruth Blackwood on May 3, 1942. She worked for the Oklahoma State Department of Human Services for 30 years until her retirement in 2008. She was a faithful member of Lone Star Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, where she served as the organist for many years. Judy loved the Lord, her family, and her church.
Judy is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Mary and Bill Norman of Edmond; her sister Bette Alsbrook of Sherman, Texas; her niece Jennifer Shelton and husband Jayme, her nephew Andrew Norman, and her great-niece Maisy Shelton, all of Edmond, as well as a number of extended family members. She was preceded in death by her father, C.I., her mother Ruth, three brothers, Charles Blackwood of Edmond, Roy Blackwood and David Blackwood, both of Oklahoma City; and one sister, Rosie Weisiger of Midwest City.
Judy was a very special person whose smile filled her whole face, whose kindness and generosity were her trademarks, and whose simple innocence was her very character.
Judy will be interred at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City. A memorial service will be held to honor her life at Matthews Funeral Home chapel, 601 S. Kelly, Edmond, OK, on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at 2:00 p.m..
