Our most precious Karlyne “Nana” Southern Wadley went to Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 5, 2026.
She was born on June 22, 1933, in Denver, Colorado to K.C. and Gladys Southern. She lived many places during her childhood but considered Guymon, OK home, where she lived most of her life and raised her family.
Karlyne is survived by her loving children: son Courtney Wadley and wife Pam of Edmond, daughter Terri Lambert of Torrance, California, and son David Wadley and wife Olivene of Oklahoma City – 4 grandchildren: Brandon (Diane) Wadley, Maegan (Will) Lackey, Nathan Breitling (Zoya), and Andrea Breitling, 11 great grandchildren—Braxton, Brooklyn, Autumn, Beckham, Britni, Colter, Brianna, Avery, Ryanne, Alexandrea, and Markus, and 6 ½ great great grands, Kooper, Konner, Grayson, Penelope, Ryker, Eden and baby girl Addilyn. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Phyllis Carter of Tahlequah, many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years Gary, son Kirk Wadley, sister Margo Riddles, brother M.L. Southern, sister-in-law Patricia Fleshman, and brother-in-law Jay Wadley.
Karlyne graduated from Guymon High School in 1951 and 2 months later married her high school sweetheart, Gary. During her life, she was a devoted helper for her husband’s many endeavors—auto sales, farming, ranching, and flying.
She accepted Christ at age 18 while she and Gary were dating. Her passion for the Lord, His Word, and His people were exemplified by her years of teaching Sunday School, leading home Bible studies, speaking at various Christian women’s organizations, supporting many missions as well as Living Bible International and the Billy Graham ministries.
She had so many favorite scriptures, some of which are Matthew 6:19-22, Philippians 1:3-6 and 1:21.
The Wadley family would like to express their sincere appreciation for all the prayers, cards, and loving kindness extended to their families during this time.
